I've had people ask me why my paintings are expensive, they're actually reasonably priced but I wanted to share this post because I'm not sure how much I've shared about my work. I can only speak for myself I don't know how other Artists work but when I start each painting my goal is to create a painting that is made to last a lifetime and when the owner opens the box I want that individual to be excited to display right away. Each painting has been created with brush strokes guided not only by my hands but by my heart. It's a part of me that is being transferred onto a piece of canvas, paper or wood. Did you know that often times when you buy a print, poster, etc from a Big Box Store you can end up paying more for that mass produced item than you would for an original painting. Another thing you probably didn't know is that reproductions are made with really cheap inks which give reproductions a flat and dull look where as an original painting created with quality paint and mediums will look fresh and last you a lifetime. Quality materials are important to me, again I'm only speaking for myself but I want anyone investing in my work to get the best for their money, that means I use Golden Paints products, they stand behind their product and I love their texture. Golden Paints is not sponsoring me for mentioning them I just enjoy their product and my collectors deserve to know what product I use. This post is to share my creative thought process and opinion based on my knowledge and experience as an Artist I am not speaking for all Artists', each artist has their own creative methods, knowledge and opinion.

I don't know about you but it's so hard for me to believe that we're headed into May next month, a busy month for so many with Prom's, Graduation Ceremonies, Prepping for June weddings etc. Just in case you forgot Mother's Day is also in May... So my mother is fairly easy to shop for, she has quite the sweet tooth so I always get a combination of quality chocolates and grocery store candy. So far that's worked pretty well - At 95 I think you have the right to eat and drink whatever the hell you dam well please hahahaha. On the other hand if you're like my husband he has a much harder time with Mother's Day because he always feels that buying flowers for her on Mothers Day is so repetitious. He sends her flowers every year for Mothers Day and wonders if his Mom thinks "well thanks for putting so much thought into my gift, you've been sending me flowers for years". Needless to say he now sends her one of flower paintings because he knows that she's not only enjoys it but he knows the gift she's receiving is not only hand-made but it's going to last her a lifetime unlike flowers that may last a week and a half (if you're lucky). A friend of mine has purchased a painting similar to the one above with a switch out in a couple of colors which is another awesome point to buying your Mom an original painting, it's going to be unique and there will never be another like it. So if you're thinking of buying a painting with a different color other than what is currently on a painting on my website just let me know, there's still plenty of time to order your painting. Customization is limited depending on the colors ( some colors need additional layers of paint which in turn will require longer drying time ) if you think an original painting would be gift your Mom would appreciate contact me to learn more about requesting a certain color of flower or vase, or if you have any other questions just contact me here. I've always been a sucker for learning new things... reading has always been one of my favorite things but Podcasts and Audio-books make life so much easier because I usually listen to either one while I'm painting. Here are a few of my favorite podcasts that I listen to: For growth and personal development: Brendon shares his story of sacrifice and struggle, from an awful accident that left him severely injured and hospitalized to reaching success and going bankrupt to reaching his new goals through determination and perseverance which make him the man he is today. Listening his podcasts makes you realize that focus, determination and perseverance is all you need to achieve your goals. Tony is probably the motivational speaker I've been following for about the last 20 years, he's definitely one of the greats in my opinion in the area of motivational teaching and coaching. For Business... And Advice on how to plan and achieve your goals through their own personal experience as business owners along with guests that provide further tips for entrepreneurs. Great advice from guest speakers familiar with different types of social media platforms and how to best utilize for your business. What are your favorite Podcasts?
